My decision

So, I started really thinking and praying about what I was going to do with my kids while I was sleeping. I had talked to my daycare and when I got off the phone with her, I was bawling. I didn't feel like we were making the right decision by pulling the kids from there.

I sat down and had a conversation with Brian. I asked him if the only that was bothering him was the money aspect. He told me that it was. He said if I talked to her about, then he was fine to have the kids go there. Grrrr....would have been nice to know before the whole 2 week notice to daycare....

Then I sat down with Tobyn. I said,"I know you would love to stay home with Mommy everyday, but that cannot be a choice for you right now. I want you to be happy while Mommy works and sleeps. So do you like to go to Chistene's house and play with your friends?" Tobyn said, "Yes, I like to play with my friends." So I said,
"Do you like to color and learn your numbers and letters?" And he said,"Yes."

So the decision was in my hands. When I look at the whole picture....no one will EVER take my place and be as good as the kids being home with me. So what is second best? Christine teaches them preschool and she does a GREAT job, she has helped me potty train Zoe, she has a strict sick policy (which can be good or bad for us), and she does fun activities with them. What am I complaining about??? I think what it came down to, is I was soooo sleep deprived, that everything and everyone was working against me and that included Christene. But the reality (that I realized after some much needed sleep, tears, and prayer) is that Christene is the second best for my kids.

You don't even know how much peace I feel about this situation. Thank God for sleep and direction.....the world looks so much better now!

Pine cones???

Today is the first day that the weather has actually been nice enough for the kids to play outside. Thank God for that. We were all beginning to suffer from cabin fever and not to mention all the colds that kept being passed around the members of the family.

So back to the story......I took the kids in the front yard to play (the backyard is dangerous right now from 3 dogs and no pooper scooper). Our front tree drops pine cones. Tobyn and Zoe thought they were so neat to play with.

Tobyn came running up to me and said, "Look at my porky pine from the tree, Mommy."

I said, "Wow what a neat pine cone."

Tobyn said, "I know there are so many porky pines in the yard. There are big porky pines and little porky pines."

"There are so many pine cones."

Just as Tobyn was getting ready to walk away, Zoe comes running up with a pine cone in her hand and says, "Ewwww....gwoss. POOP!"

My sweet little man

I think Tobyn sensed something was bothering me yesterday. All day he kept saying sweet things to me. He would out of the blue say, "Mommy, I sure love you." He kept asking for kisses from me. While we were laying down for nap time, he snuggled up to me and said, "I wanna cuddle."

There is know better way to erase my stress than to have my little man loving on me all day. If I didn't know better, I would think that God sent me these two little blessings, known as Tobyn and Zoe, to encourage me when I am down. I am so in love with them both!

Ahhh the joys of daycare....

It has been an interesting couple months with my daycare.

We pay up front for our daycare services. My kids have had one cold after another this winter and our daycare provider refuses to let the kids come when their noses are running (even if it's not green) and then we get a half credit (if we see a credit at all) for those days. She even accused me the other day of giving Zoe medicine before bringing her to make it seem like she was better. Tobyn has been refusing to go and cries everytime he is dropped off. When he gets home, he tells me that she has been mean to him and yelled at him. Now I know 3 three olds can tell stories, but as a Momma that is not what you want to hear. I want to hear that they had so much fun.

She has done so many great things too. She has helped us with potty training Zoe. Tobyn has learned so much in the preschool. Zoe is counting to three without help! I know they are learning at her house. I am just so conflicted.

Brian told me the other day that he is fed up and he doesn't want to take them anymore. He told me to let her know that next Friday is their last day. I wrote her a very nice letter and sent it.
But I am just so sick over it. I feel like I am not doing the right thing, but yet I know that I have every reason to leave. Why am I feeling this way?

Potty Training

Zoe has been potty training for about two and half weeks now. She is doing an awesome job! Her favorite part about going in the toilet is flushing. She wants to flush the toilet ALL the time. Zoe gets excited every time she pees in the toilet and she starts giggling and singing. I am so proud of her! And the added benefit....the money we will save not having to purchase diapers!

Maternity Photo Shoot

I don't know how many of you know....but I decided what I wanted to be a photographer when I "grow up." Many of my friends and family have asked me to do photo sessions with them for various occasions.

My sister-in-law asked me to do some maternity pictures for her. This is my first sitting not shooting my kids. The pics came out a little dark, but for the most part I like them. I want to retake some of them and see if we can get some better shots.

So without further ado...here are some of my favorite shots.

Wow!!! How time flies.....

Ok...so I have been a very bad blogger lately. Life has just been super crazy around the Jacobs house.

Brian started school back up again in mid January and around the same time began to play basketball in the Twin Falls Recreation league. I am not gonna lie....his team is horrible. Excluding Brian and one other guy on the team, they are all a bunch of show-offs and poor sports. It is very entertaining to watch though! I keep meaning to take pictures, but I am always forgetting my camera on game nights. Brian went back to Tech Support and taking phone calls at work and they are requiring mandatory overtime. On Mondays and Tuesdays, we see each other about 10 minutes as we trade off the kids. It is a bummer, but the extra money is nice!

Tobyn has been such a sweet boy lately. He is learning so much! Tobyn is a great teacher to Zoe and he loves her to pieces. He is patient (most of the time) with her and loves to play cars with her. Tobyn has been into coloring lately. He wants to color ALL the time!

Zoe decided she no longer wanted to wear a diaper, so she is now potty training. She is doing a great job...I would say about 80% of the time she goes potty on the toilet. Zoe made up her own "potty dance" that she does every time time she uses the toilet. It is sooooo cute!

And what have I been up to? I have been working 35-40 hours per week, plus trying to be super Mom and wife. Last week, I shot my first maternity photo shoot. It went very well and I am pretty proud of the pictures. I will post some when I have a bit more time. I got to meet an online friend in person for the first time. That was so much fun! We chatted over Starbucks and it felt like I had known her my entire life!

Other than the busyness, we are truly blessed with a beautiful life. I promise to blog more and keep ya'll informed!
